Our clients really get a BANG for their buck!” Jorge’s favorite site is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, which he considers to be a great vessel of healing: “When I take folks there, I look forward to interacting with veterans and their families AND getting my clients involved in the process.”
Edgar Vasquez says tour guiding has always been not just the passion but the base of Edgar’s professional career. In his own words, he has seen the city of Washington, DC change before his eyes in the last 23 plus years giving historical tours. His great sense of patriotism and love for the city and the country comes from the fact that in his case his American citizenship was not given to him by birth, he earned it. Originally born in Colombia, Edgar is the product of that very exciting and somewhat exotic culture and the greatness and the open possibility that is the United States. Married with two children that are the reflexión of today’s multicultural and multilingual world, Edgar has a passion for music, reading, dancing, and conversation . . . Having traveled extensively for both work and pleasure he maintains a very objective view of the world, always keeping a close relationship with his motto: “do it now, do it later but do it” and philosophy of life that guides him giving people and situations “the benefit of the doubt”. Although he went to law school he never finished and instead he is a proud graduate of George Mason University with a degree in logistical and event planning. Having made a career in tourism since 1993, Edgar has been through all the different levels of the industry from an operator, marketing, operations, strategizing and management. Along with tour guiding in Washington, Philadelphia and New York, Edgar has been a tour director around the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Today, you will easily find him guiding a tour of the City, writing his blog, attending a concert in any of the city’s parks, playing with his dogs, dancing salsa with his wife Marci at Lucia’s Cafe and telling a story to somebody.
