USA Guided Tours would like to bring you along on an expedition to the caves of the Shenandoah Mountains. This stunning region is a great day trip from the Capital region and offers a number of natural wonders and history dating back to the American Revolution.
First discovered in 1878, the Luray Caverns has over 64 acres to explore! Inside the caves formed by ancient rivers exist two bodies of water and ceilings as tall as 140 ft (43 meters)! It’s even a great place to visit at all times since it stays a constant temperature of 54F/14C.
Outside the caverns are tons of opportunities for fun for the whole family! You can visit the Luray Valley Museum or climb the Ropes Course and get lost in the beautiful Garden Maze; learn geology and mining history at the Gem Sluice experience and even explore the Carriage and Caravan Museum featuring an 1897 Mercedes-Benz, one of the oldest cars in the country still in operating condition.
Lunch on the property is included and offers easy access from all of the activities on site. Travelers can choose how they wish to explore the grounds with a variety of activities all included in the price for your convenience. After ample time to explore, we return to Washington, DC on a beautiful scenic drive.
