In order to visit the U.S. Capitol, you will enter through airport-like security with a member of our staff. You will take a short tour of the U.S. Capitol Building to see sights like the Rotunda and the Old Supreme Court Chambers. It is important to know that this will be the first stop of your tour and there is no food or drink allowed through security. Additionally, there will not be lockers to store any belongings while on the Capitol Building tour and you will not board the bus until after you exit the U.S. Capitol Building.
We highly recommend you arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time to ensure your reservation is honored. You have up to ten (10) minutes before the scheduled departure time to ensure your seat on the tour. Ten (10) minutes before the departure time, we note outstanding reservations as "no shows." If we have walk-up passengers, they will be given a ticket and will be boarded at this time.
We use luxury tour buses that are climate-controlled and offer a comfortable and pleasant touring experience, as well as protection from weather elements. The maximum bus capacity is 33 passengers; however, for the sake of making our tours more intimate, the average group size is less than 30 guests.
We do our best to keep large, same-party groups together on the same bus, but please remember that the seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you claim your seats - they're reserved only for you for the duration of the tour.
Unfortunately, our shuttles are not wheelchair accessible, nor is there storage for baby strollers. If you have a wheelchair, please call us to make special vehicle arrangements for your tour. Some of our tours involve longer walks so if you like, you may stay on board the shuttle, near the landmark, without exiting the shuttle bus every time.
Kids under 12 receive USA Guided Tour's discounted children's price (varies with tours). Children under 3 years old ride for free, if they are able to be held in their parents' lap during the tour. If you would rather have a separate seat for your infant, you may purchase a child's discounted ticket.
Tips are not included in the tour ticket price. We do ask that you consider tipping your tour guide and driver. The standard tipping rate is 15% or $8 - $10 per individual.
Our shuttle buses and vans do not have storage for accommodating carry-on bags. We ask that you only bring purses, briefcases, or backpacks for your tour; Please note that USA Guided Tours reserves the right to inspect any bags, book bags, briefcases, or backpacks you carry.
The good news is, you can wait until you arrive in Washington, DC to get tickets for any of our tours and activities; however, many of our tours are in high demand and you run a chance of your preferred tour being sold out. So we recommend booking well in advance as we would hate to have you miss out due to booked tours.
We understand things come up, so we will happily change your date or time as long as we have availability. If you must make a change, please contact us. However, please be aware that some of our tours cannot be amended once you have booked them as a part of a package, such as our hotel + tour packages.
It depends on the stop. Your tour guide will tell you the planned amount of time for each stop. We have allowed enough time at every stop for you to walk around and take plenty of pictures!
We do not enter the White House on any of our tours. If you would like to visit the White House for a building tour, you must contact your Congressional Representative for U.S. Citizens or Ambassador for international travelers. Contact information is readily accessible online at your representatives' or your national embassies' website.
Unless otherwise noted, a public tour does not automatically include additional tickets to attractions or museums. Some tours, however, like our African American History Tour in Washington, DC do include museum entry AFTER the guided tour.
A private tour, however, can include a wide variety of different tickets and experiences. Talk to your sales representatives to learn more.
