guided outside tour
On your way to the U.S. Capitol Building, you will pass the National Archives, which houses historic U.S. documents like the "Three Charters of Freedom" -- the original Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Next in view are the Newseum, the Canadian Embassy, and the National Gallery of Art.
Emerging in sight is the U.S. Capitol, where you take in a view of the two-mile-long, panoramic view of the Smithsonian Museums - the largest museum complex in the world, and the Washington Monument - the tallest, freestanding stone structure in the world!
On your way to the White House, you pass the U.S. Botanic Garden, Grant’s Memorial, The U.S. Navy Memorial, the Robert F. Kennedy Department of Justice and the J. Edgar Hoover Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The stop is the National World War II Memorial. Along the way, you will see the headquarters of the American Red Cross, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Organization of American States (OAS) - representing the U.S., Canada, and 35 Latin American countries. Onward, to the Jefferson Memorial.
Once you have marveled at the Jefferson Memorial and have taken lots of photos, we will visit the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial – dedicated in 2011 – just across the Tidal Basin.
On the walking part of the tour, you will visit the Korean War Veterans Memorial, and via a nice stroll along the tree line, you will emerge in front of the Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorials.
For a unique experience, this tour offers a leisurely cruise on the Potomac River (March 15 to October 16) with your guide, who will answer questions.
Returning from the cruise, we re-board the bus to visit the Iwo Jima Memorial - with spectacular views of Arlington Cemetery and the Washington, D.C. landscape.
The last stop is the Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) Memorial, which will transport you back in time to the years of 1933-1945. We return to the U.S. Navy Memorial at the end of the tour.
We use 35-passenger luxury tour buses for our daily mixed tour groups. Private tours are scheduled on our 15-passenger mini coach buses and vans. We do our best to keep large, same-party groups together on the same bus. We reserve the right to substitute our small-capacity tour buses with larger 55-passenger buses, depending upon demand and/or our tour schedule. The 55-passenger buses have bathrooms on board for your convenience.
Unfortunately, our shuttles are not wheelchair accessible, nor is there storage for baby strollers. If you have a wheelchair, please call us to make special vehicle arrangements for your tour. Some of our tours involve longer walks so if you like, you may stay on board the shuttle, near the landmark, without exiting the shuttle bus every time.
Our shuttle buses and vans do not have storage for accommodating carry-on bags. We ask that you only bring purses, briefcases, or backpacks for your tour; Please note that USA Guided Tours reserves the right to inspect any bags, book bags, briefcases or backpacks you carry.
It depends on the stop. Your tour guide will tell you the planned amount of time for each stop. We have allowed enough time on every stop for you to walk around and take plenty of pictures!
Ralph was fantastic! He interacted with everyone in a personal way and made the tour great!
Hi Both last nights tour with Ralph & Ali and last weeks with JohnA & Cesar were excellent. We saw more than we could have done any other way and more importantly understood more of what we were looking at
We appreciated Nick's humor, enthusiasm, and knowledge. He made the daytime and the night tours very enjoyable.
Nick was a great guide. He made it a very educational and fun. We take many tours in our travels and he was one of the best we have had. We also left a good review with Expedia. If we come back to D.C. We will be requesting him.
Just wanted to let you know that I did leave a comment. I wanted to express how much my son and I enjoyed this tour. Ralph really made this special and it will be a huge memory for me!! Thank you!!!
John was a wonderful tour guide, his vast knowledge of the city (and every other topic) and booming laugh made for a great experience. The driver was safe and smooth as well, and the bus was comfortably air-conditioned and in good condition.
We really enjoyed your tour and I am recommending USA Guided 2 all my friends Joey was very informative and a true delight thanks again.
We toured with Christopher today and he was more than great! Very upbeat, courteous, and concerned about each individual. Give that guy a raise!!!
We really enjoyed the tour, and our guide Christopher was fantastic. What a beautiful and peaceful way to see the glorious monuments. Thank you.
